Revelio at The Things Conference 2026 in Amsterdam
Revelio joined the IoT community in Amsterdam on 22-23 September for the ninth edition of The Things Conference. Our founder and CEO, George Gotoshia, represented the company during two days of technical sessions, practical discussions, and meetings with the people behind technologies used across the industry.
Held at De Kromhouthal, the conference welcomed more than 2,200 professionals from over 80 countries. Its programme included more than 180 sessions, alongside hands-on workshops and opportunities to explore connected devices in person.
For Revelio, the visit was a chance to take a closer look at developments in low-power and embedded IoT, exchange practical insights and meet others working on similar challenges.
Meeting the People Behind the Technology
For Revelio, events like The Things Conference are a way to build relationships with the people involved in different parts of an IoT product’s development: the chip manufacturers, software developers and network operators. Meeting them in one place makes it possible to discuss our own work, understand theirs, and identify where we can work together.
In Amsterdam, the CEO of Revelio met Orne Brocaar, creator of ChirpStack, the open-source LoRaWAN Network Server. Their conversation provided an opportunity to exchange practical insights and discuss where IoT is heading. Direct access to the people behind established technologies is particularly valuable when exploring how devices, networks and software can work together in real deployments.
The conference also led to an agreement to cooperate with UNAIOT, a major Sigfox network operator in Turkey. Our founder met Kemalettin Sahin, the company’s co-founder and CEO, and agreed to work together on developing Sigfox and mioty networks in Georgia and Turkey. The cooperation will also include joint engineering projects and the development and deployment of new devices.
George Gotoshia also met Anicet Giaimo of STMicroelectronics, whose marketing responsibilities include the STM32WL3x chip used in Revelio’s module. The meeting established a shared plan to promote the new chip. For Revelio, this is an opportunity to work directly with the manufacturer of a key component in our hardware and show how that technology is being used in our module.
Progress on Revelio’s Bidirectional Mioty Hardware
The conference came at an important stage for Revelio. Ahead of the event, we received the first development boards for our upcoming bidirectional mioty modules, marking a concrete step in the hardware’s development.
Designed to support development, integration, and hands-on testing, the boards will help developers evaluate the technology for use in sensors, smart meters, industrial IoT devices, and other ultra-low-power connected products.
Our two days at The Things Conference offered new perspectives and useful connections at this stage of development. We look forward to continuing the conversations started in Amsterdam and sharing further updates on our bidirectional mioty modules.
