REVELIO is an LPWAN operator and IoT engineering company. We deploy and operate low-power wide-area networks built on mioty® and LoRaWAN, and connect them to the rest of your estate through LTE, Wi-Fi, Wireless M-Bus and Modbus. Modules, gateways, network infrastructure and integration — delivered end to end.
What is mioty?
mioty® is an LPWAN technology built for IoT networks measured in tens of thousands of devices. It splits every message into two dozen fragments and scatters them across time and frequency — lose half of them to interference and the message still arrives intact. That is why mioty reaches basements, meter pits and congested industrial sites where other radio technologies drop data, on sensors that run for years on a single battery.
It was invented at the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS in Erlangen, Germany. The mioty® trademark is owned by Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, and the protocol is published as the open standard ETSI TS 103 357 — not a proprietary technology controlled by one vendor.
REVELIO is a member of the mioty Alliance, and we operate a mioty network covering the whole of Tbilisi. Your devices go live across the city on day one: no base station to buy, no network to build, no site survey before you can begin.
Wireless M-Bus & Modbus
Your instruments already measure everything. The problem is that the reading never leaves the building.
Wireless M-Bus (EN 13757-4) is the European standard behind most installed wireless water, gas, heat and electricity meters — encrypted, battery-powered, built to last a meter’s certified life. Modbus is the protocol running in almost every plant room in the world: PLCs, energy meters, drives, HVAC controllers, inverters. Neither was designed to reach the internet on its own.
REVELIO closes that gap. Our gateways receive wM-Bus telegrams and poll Modbus devices, decrypt and translate them into structured data, and carry it over our mioty® network covering the whole of Tbilisi — no meters replaced, no PLCs touched.
There is a direct link between the two worlds: OMS generation 5 runs over mioty telegram splitting, so the metering standard already in use and our network are one ecosystem, not two projects.
We provide: gateways and data concentrators · protocol conversion · AES-128 key handling · walk-by to fixed-network migration · integration into billing, SCADA and BMS · radio planning and commissioning.
LoRaWAN
What is LoRaWAN?
LoRaWAN® is an LPWAN standard for connecting battery-powered devices over long distances in licence-free spectrum. It is maintained by the LoRa Alliance, a non-profit association of several hundred members, and was recognised by the International Telecommunication Union as ITU-T Y.4480 — the first LPWAN protocol to become an ITU standard.
Its radio layer, LoRa®, uses chirp spread spectrum modulation developed by Semtech. Devices reach gateways over several kilometres, run for years on a single battery, and are secured end to end with AES-128.
LoRaWAN’s real strength is its ecosystem. Thousands of off-the-shelf sensors already exist for almost any measurement you need.
REVELIO deploys LoRaWAN alongside mioty®. Where a suitable sensor already exists and the site is not radio-hostile, LoRaWAN is often the fastest route to a working deployment. Where thousands of devices share one gateway or the spectrum is congested, we use mioty. We will tell you which one your project actually needs.
